NORMA
About NORMA

Shoes have a life.
We measure it.

Most running shoes are retired with hundreds of good kilometres still in them. NORMA gives every used pair a verified % life remaining, read from the Strava mileage they've already run — so a buyer knows exactly what they're getting before they pay.

01 — Origin

Why we built this

Runners are honest people who sell into a dishonest market. “Barely worn.” “Only used a handful of times.” Everyone means well, but nobody can prove it — so the buyer discounts every listing to protect themselves, and good shoes with real life left get thrown out or sold for scrap.

We started NORMA because the missing number already existed. If you log your runs, your shoes have a mileage history. That history is the truth the market was guessing at. We simply make it legible: how far a pair has run, how much of its designed life is spent, and how much is left.

02 — The number

How % life works

Model
Each shoe has a declared lifespan — the kilometres a midsole is built to hold its shape and cushioning, typically 640–960 km depending on the model.
Mileage
We read the logged kilometres for that specific pair from the seller's connected Strava, counting only runs tagged to those shoes.
Life left
Declared lifespan minus logged mileage, expressed as a percentage. A pair built for 800 km with 240 km on it reads 70% life remaining.

It isn't a marketing star-rating. It's a subtraction anyone can check, grounded in data the seller can't quietly edit after the fact.

03 — Trust

What makes a listing trustworthy

Verified
Mileage comes from Strava, not a text box. The figure on the listing is the figure the shoe actually ran.
Honest
The seller's own photos and words. Real wear, real creases, described by the person who ran in them — we don't stage or retouch listings.
Protected
Escrow on every order. Your payment is held until the shoes arrive and match. The seller is paid once you're happy, not before.
04 — Ahead

Where we're going

The mileage number is the start, not the finish. We're building a rotation tracker so runners can watch life deplete across their whole shoe cupboard, a fair-price guide anchored to life remaining rather than release date, and a clearer picture of which models actually last.

The goal is simple: fewer good shoes in landfill, and a used market runners can trust as much as a new one.
