Its dual-layer midsole (PEBA-based FF Turbo+ and firmer FF Blast+ ECO) delivers both plushness and responsiveness, supporting a wide range of paces and distances. The shoe excels at moderate and long runs, offering a bouncy yet stable ride that protects the legs over extended efforts. For tempo runs, its responsive foam and stiffness provide enough energy return for moderately hard efforts, though it lacks the snappiness and lightweight feel of true racing shoes. For racing, especially at 5K/10K, the Superblast 2 is considered too heavy and unplated to be competitive, but it can serve as a comfortable marathon option for non-elite runners prioritizing protection over speed.
